Tim Hopgood
Tim studied Illustration at Kingston University. He then worked as an Art Director for 15 years for many of the UK’s leading fashion retailers, before turning his hand to children’s book illustration.
His first book Our Big Blue Sofa won the ‘Read It Again!’ Award in 2007. This was followed by A Dog Called Rod which was shortlisted for the Red House Children’s Book of the Year Award 2008 and the British Book Design Awards 2007. Last year, Tim won the Booktrust Early Years Award for Best Emerging Illustrator for his third book Here Comes Frankie! which was also nominated for the Kate Greenaway Award. His latest book, Wow! Said The Owl is his first picture book for younger readers and his first book to be published in the USA.
Tim is married and lives in York, has two noisy teenagers, two not-so-smart grey sofas and two black cats (no dogs as yet!).
