Sarah Dyer
Sarah Dyer was born in 1978 in Brighton. She graduated from Kingston University in BA Illustration in 2001. Her first book Five Little Fiends won the Bronze Smarties Prize and the UKRA (United Kingdom Reading Award) award. It has been an international success, translated into 8 different languages. Since then she has written and illustrated three more books for Bloomsbury, Clementine and Mungo, Princess For A Day – a Clementine and Mungo story, and The Girl with the Bird’s Nest Hair (published June 2009). Her first book for Frances Lincoln titled Mrs Muffly’s Monster published June 2008 has been co-editioned in Korean and Chinese. It also featured in the 26th International Exhibition of Illustration for Children. She has recently just finished her 2nd book with them titled Monster Day at Work (due to be published Spring 2010).
Sarah also attends many Festivals, Workshops, and Schools to carry out events and readings. Recently she has attended Bath, Cheltenham, Edinburgh and the Hay Festivals.
When Sarah is not writing and illustrating she teaches on the Foundation Course and the Illustration BA Course part-time at Kingston University. She is also completing an MA in Sequential Design and Illustration at Brighton University.
She lives and works in London.
