The Scotsman Article
July 15th, 2009 by VanessaThe Fidra Gallery opened officially on Saturday following two evenings of previews for press and mailing list customers. Both were hectic, both were successful and in the next day or so I’ll get a post up with lots of pictures of the all the fun.
In the meantime though, you might like to read this article. It was in The Scotsman’s Critique section last Saturday and is a lovely piece about illustration and how as as medium it is gradually over-coming the snobbery of the fine art establishment. It’s mostly about Catherine’s recent Kate Greenaway Medal and there are some comments from Anthony Browne, the new Children’s Laureate. There’s also lots about the Gallery and I even manage to sound as though I know what I’m talking about which is a bonus.
